Welcome to Tsumeb
 |
Welcome
to Tsumeb, the cosy little town on the route from Windhoek to the
Etosha National Park. From Windhoek, you will enter Tsumeb through
the city gate.
Tsumeb has a subtropical climate with hot summers (average maximum
temperature of 29,7°C) and mild winters (average minimum temperature
is 14,4°C). During the rainfall months (October to March), thunderstorms
occur. |
The
Tsumeb Museum, operated by Ilse Schatz, is definitely worth a visit
- many minerals, comprehensive arms and army equipment display, and
interesting Bushman artifacts.
 |

Tsumeb offers the usual city facilities of 7-day-supermarket, tourist
shops, post office, garages, 24-hour gas stations, churches and a
beautiful park. |
|
 |
The
Trans Namib rail connection links Tsumeb to Windhoek, Walvis Bay (via
Swakopmund), and the Republic of South Africa. The trains run three
times a week.
You can also catch the Intercape Mainliner airconditioned bus twice
a week from Windhoek or Vic Falls to Tsumeb.
Also, there are many local minibusses or vans in any bigger city of
Namibia taking you to Tsumeb. |
